Sorry she hasn't been for awhile

The evil one has not been herself for awhile lately, she hurt her foot somehow.  Lost a toenail.  And I don't know how or where she managed to do it.  Haven't found little kitty parts anywhere, nor has she escaped recently.... but she has been up on her shelf not running around or bugging us for attention.  I was pretty worried there when I first saw the damage, but she wouldn't let me handle her (much less her foot) for any length of time.
So I could only wait until she started to feel better, (or worse) and her foot was better (or worse).  Luckily, very luckily she got better, I don't know what I could have done- what would a vet have told me?  That we could put a collar of shame on her to keep her from cleaning her hurt toe?  That we could opt for for surgery to remove said hurt? that we could put her on antibiotics which since she's a cat would have made other problems?  I don't know.

She's feeling better now, she came to visit at bedtime and bit me.

Not so fast on the evil track there

Sorry bout that folks, life went on and dog-gone it (couldn't resist) miss evil only hissed at me twice in the -what- last two weeks (?) since my other post.  am not even sure why she hissed except that maybe just maybe she really wanted to be left alone as she was leaping to the top of the shelves and missed and landed on the second to the top shelf.  Wow what a convoluted sentence!  Who knew that the second to the top shelf was not to her liking or that being seen missing the top shelf would make her cranky... so, i got hissed at- twice- before she just turned around and ignored me.
Other than that she's been nice (it's kinda scary cuz it means she wants something but we're not too sure what that might be.... It could be time on my lap, nah- it means that she believes we are starving her because she can see the bottom of her food bowl (like a 1 inch circle of bowl amongst the uneaten kibble bits) and we (meaning I) need to give her another scoop (so she can't see the bottom of the bowl and will have food to nibble - I can't help it- kibble to nibble for the next 6 hours till that inch shows back up).  Oh good grief what will I write next in order to convince everyone that the cat is still evil?
Maybe I'll write the story of the time she beat a window up because there was another cat sitting outside and woke up the dogs not at the next door neighbor's house but the house on the other side of them at 7 in the morning....

Okay okay twist my arm! I can't help it- I like this story!

So my son is off spending the night at his buddy's and I get to sleep in but sometime just after dawn I wake up hearing some kind of weird noises from another part of the house.  I doze off but the noises get stranger because they sort of sound like someone is scraping windows (you know like fingernails on chalkboards) and a cat growl that's a cross between a yodel, a howl, and growling.  I listen to this for a little and then I realize that I'm hearing dogs barking- not just the dogbark of someone walking by and they know you're there bark but full out frenzied insane something is crazy barking.  So then I think okay I need to go see what is going on in the living room.
I'm  peering at the windows in the early light and as my eyes focus, I realize that my cat is almost windmilling her fore paws on the glass she is so deranged to get at something outside.  Then I see two other things that really set my heart a-beating.  One, I see the lady at the house on the other side of the neighbors coming out her door, and two is a cat sitting quite quietly on an air-conditioner platform just outside of the window that my cat is attempting to cut through both with claw and operatic vocalizations.
So here I am standing in my living room- inside cat wailing and wiping the window madly, outside cat quiet as can be- lady coming my way- I just know I'm gonna get it-
The lady is all the way across the neighbor's yard sees me behind the evil cat, and sees the other cat on the platform- waves and sort of gets her dogs to calm down (very little -cuz they're dogs! and very very excited by everything they getting to see-hear- maybe even smell).  She comes over and as she passes the side of the house with the window the cat outside jumps down and leaves, so my cat is just left all huffy and puffy from her (ha-ha) hissy fit and nowhere to fight.
I go out on the carport to meet the lady and apologize ( it is 7 in the morning) for my cat's histrionics and she tells me it's ok cuz she knows the outside cat, it comes to visit her yard regularly and lives around the corner.  It was a huge tom by the way- that liked to come and be in view of her dogs but not in reach.  (A tease in other words).  And I also get to find out that the lady's dogs are miniature schnauzers (who I know from personal experience get way too excited by things that are outside of their house- until the outside thing comes in and then they are perfect puppies).
So the evil cat made known her opinion of cats who get to be outside, I get to meet the lady on the other side of the neighbors, who is a sculptor/ medical person and discover that all the local felines (probably toms) used to get to have lunch with the cat from my house's previous occupant.  I knew the previous occupant and even house-sat her cat briefly, which is how I knew about the window, the air-conditioner platform, and visiting cats  My new not quite next door neighbor had some other interesting cat tales for me as I got to know her better- gee I miss her!
Sometimes I wish we could still live there, have neighborhood cats cruise by, and get to tell stories, but I live here now in the greater southwest and have feral cats that live outside our house.  They don't come visit as much as regular cats (unless my grandmother is feeding them breakfast- or dinner) but the evil cat attempts to beat them up too- through the windows still.  whew!- this is a long story!

New Deviltry Afoot

Well, the cat tried to escape again this morning- she was foiled by Gramms who may or may not have: a.) shooed the cat out of the room with a broom, b.) stamped her feet to spook the cat out of the room, and or c.) yelled at her in frustration (almost swearing in that frustration- something I have never ever heard my grandmother do). I think she may have done all of the above. I could hear the foot stamping from the other end of the house. It worried me as there seems to be a sort of detant between those two most of this winter and this morning there wasn't. So when I went into the room there was no cat in sight or a broom.
Needless to say the cat got locked up all day in my son's room (with food water and catbox). She had a very nice nap. An all day nap on my son's bed. Gramms on the other hand felt terribly guilty and was upset about the darn @#$%^&!!! cat ( I myself swear quite a bit when provoked) (however these days it seems that there is a lot of darn and crap about- not quite as sweary as all the other swear words).
So the cat is out now, napping on a different cushion instead of the bed, the doors to the great outdoors under more scrutiny and Gramms may or may not still be worried about the @#$%^&!!! cat. She too has gone to bed.

so...

so, the cat escaped today. She got out ( i heard her out there in the big outside) and promptly got into a fight with the outside cats who live there and drive her crazy through the windows. I went looking for her a little while later and spotted her at the corner of the house, and of course she disappeared and I couldn't find her for several more hours. My grandmother decided that she needed to be guilty of having let her out (even though if a cat wants out can you really stop them? - especially if they're evil?) To give Gramms credit she did leave the door open for awhile and the cat came in.
I spotted her comfortably curled up on my son's bed and when I tried to pet her she hissed at me. Twice.
